Friday, August 18, 2023 – The AquaSur 2023 Dinner brought together the main exponents of the aquaculture sector at the national level, consolidating the important role and challenges of Chile in the global industry, reaffirming the commitment of the industry to economic, social and labor growth that contributes to the regions and to the food security of the future. The meeting, which was held at the Hotel Enjoy in Puerto Varas, was attended by more than 380 representatives of suppliers, companies, unions, foundations and industry leaders from various regions, as well as relevant authorities of the sector, demonstrating the high interest of the industry to promote and enhance the development of the country. The event, which reaffirmed the commitment of the industry with the main industry leaders, strengthened ties in the aquaculture world, opening possibilities to generate new business and long-term links that enable more agile and reliable processes, encouraging joint growth. During the dinner, the new version of Aquasur 2024 was announced, the most important aquaculture exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere, which will bring together the aquaculture industry, presenting technological innovations and cutting-edge knowledge. This will promote the rapprochement between companies and suppliers from Chile, Latin America, Europe and Asia, strengthening the relationship and reaffirming the importance of aquaculture in the country. The 12th version of the exhibition and international congress, organized by FISA of the GL events Group, will be held between March 19 and 21, 2024 in Puerto Montt, bringing together professionals, decision makers and leading companies in the industry, who will be able to meet again to learn about the latest technologies and innovations for the industry. Rodrigo Lobo, executive director of Aquasur, informed that “the aquaculture sector must stay connected. Today we feel responsible for promoting the development of the industry in our country, strengthening its economic growth. This is why we are announcing Aquasur 2024, the largest aquaculture meeting in the Southern Hemisphere, where knowledge and solutions to today’s main challenges and conflicts will be shared, presenting new technologies and possibilities for a more sustainable industry. Likewise, the FISA representative indicated that “the objective of AquaSur 2024 is to reaffirm Chile’s important role in the world salmon, mussels, oysters, among other products, showing the development that the country has achieved in the industry in order to exchange experiences and strengthen development, promoting Chilean aquaculture”. Along the same lines, Lobo emphasized that, in its new version, Aquasur 2024 will have an exhibition space and international congress located at the foot of the sea, giving options to make The fair, which will be deployed over more than 20,000 square meters, will be held in more than 20,000 square meters.
