The new version of the most important aquaculture fair in the southern hemisphere contemplates the creation of a digital platform in order to maintain the exchange of knowledge and generation of business opportunities throughout the year in addition to the realization of the face-to-face version between March 2 and 4 next year in Puerto Montt. Fisa, Chile’s leading trade fair organizer, finalized the acquisition of the most important aquaculture fair in Latin America, AquaSur, belonging to Grupo Editorial Editec. After the purchase, the general manager of the Editec Group, Cristián Solis, said that “the acquisition of AquaSur reinforces the historical relationship between Fisa and our group because we will continue working closely to strongly promote the aquaculture industry through Aqua, the official media of the exhibition and leading magazine of the sector”. On the occasion, Cristián Solis emphasized that this agreement will allow the national aquaculture sector to project itself internationally and promote the national industry in the world, given that FISA is a subsidiary of the international group GL events, which will undoubtedly allow the generation of business outside our borders at a time when the country needs economic reactivation more than ever”. And he added that “we are very happy to have closed this deal, because it is a recognition of AquaSur’s trajectory, prestige and tradition”. The general manager of FISA and the GL events Group in Chile, Francisco Sotomayor, emphasized that “for us the acquisition of AquaSur is a tremendous challenge, given that it is one of the important economic sectors of our country and we hope with it to continue contributing to the development of the national economy”. AquaSur Connect On the occasion, Sotomayor announced that in order to remain connected during this 2021, the aquaculture exhibition will have a digital platform: AquaSur Connect “so as to maintain the exchange of knowledge and generation of business opportunities until we meet again in the in-person version of the fair to be held between March 2 and 4, 2022 in Puerto Montt”. And he explained that those who want to be part of this platform will be able to access a subscription that will allow them “to have a permanent space for networking with stakeholders in the sector. It will also have a Marketplace open throughout the year where companies will be able to exhibit products and services with quick and advanced search filters for easy navigation that aims to simplify the life of the supply areas and the entire chain of companies in the sector.
