“Entrevientos”, the most modern salmon processing plant in the Region of Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica can be visited by those attending AquaSur Tech, the first technological solutions fair, which will be held in Punta Arenas on March 29-30. The activity, called “Salmon farming in Magallanes open to the community”, will take place on Wednesday, March 29 in three time blocks to which they will be assigned, leaving the approach buses from the Dreams Hotel in Punta Arenas to the plant, starting at 8:30, 9:45 and 14:30 hours, the places are limited. The activity is part of the so-called Open Industry, a space promoted by the Association of Salmon and Trout Producers of Magallanes for AquaSur Tech, and whose objective is to form and build aquaculture culture in the region. Thus, those attending the fair will have the opportunity to register for this visit and learn about the contribution that the industry makes to the local community through its structure and production chain. “Entrevientos is one of the most modern salmon processing plants in the world, being able to process up to 60 thousand tons of salmon per year in different presentations, from gutted salmon, through different presentations of fillets, fresh and frozen, to portioned products. Today it generates more than 900 direct jobs and is an important source of employment in Punta Arenas, in addition to contracting key regional companies for the development of its activities.
