Terminales Marítimos de la Patagonia (TMP) is preparing to be the main host of AQUASUR 2024, consolidating itself as the strategic epicenter of innovation and logistics in the aquaculture industry. From March 19-21, TMP will be the place where more than 350 exhibiting companies and representatives from over 30 countries will gather, marking a milestone for the international port and salmon industry.

In a significant step into the future, the decision to host AQUASUR 2024 highlights the port’s key position in the development of the agricultural, forestry and aquaculture industries, primarily, as well as general, project and container cargo. With expansion plans projected for the end of 2025, Terminales Marítimos de la Patagonia seeks not only to expand its cargo capacity, but also to boost logistics efficiency and transport safety, thus meeting the sector’s growing demand.

Thus, more than a thousand visitors will be received at TMP’s logistics center, which will provide the opportunity to visit the port facility and learn how the expansion project projected for the beginning of 2026 is progressing.

Terminales Marítimos de la Patagonia seeks not only to expand its cargo capacity, but also to boost logistics efficiency and transportation safety.

The general manager of Terminales Marítimos de la Patagonia, Mario Santana, highlighted the importance of the presence of AQUASUR 2024 at its facilities, emphasizing the care of the communities surrounding the facilities and the growth that comes with technological progress for the region.

“Today we are focused on having a very professional work team to face future challenges, to grow together with our communities and to continue improving in technology and infrastructure; we want to give a strong emphasis to that,” said Santana, who added that “we aspire in the medium term to be the most important multipurpose port in southern Chile.”

“We are positioned in a very strategic place in the area to be able to develop this port industry, since we have a port without restrictions, drafts greater than 13 meters, sheltered waters for an excellent operation and a very important connectivity with the main north-south route. What we have to promote here is a first class port infrastructure that will allow us, in addition to the cargo we already have, to capture the container industry that is generated in our region. Currently this cargo leaves by truck to other ports in the Biobío region and what we want and are sure of is to provide a logistic and port solution to the clients of the salmon industry so that their cargo can be exported through the Los Lagos region”, added the executive.

From March 19 to 21, TMP will be the place where more than 350 exhibiting companies and representatives from more than 30 countries will meet.

Regarding the role of Terminales Marítimos de la Patagonia in the exchange of knowledge and advances with global leaders, its general manager Mario Santana highlighted the value of the exhibition. “Logically, it is a platform to empower not only us as service companies, but also to be recipients of new technologies that come to be shown at this fair and to be able, why not, to carry out implementations that help further improve our port infrastructure and logistics center of TMP. We see that it is a very important trade fair activity that will serve both parties, us as a port logistics solution and these new technologies that will also contribute to the efficiencies that our industry requires and needs today”.

AQUASUR will be held between March 19 and 21 at the facilities of Terminales Marítimos de la Patagonia, located in the Chinquihue sector, Puerto Montt. Guided tours, participation options and the purchase of tickets to the largest aquaculture fair in the southern hemisphere can be arranged on the website www.aquasur.cl.
